Cape Town Airport best in Africa.

Cape Town International Airport has been named the best airport in Africa by an international association of the world's airports, the Western Cape government said on Friday.
The award was made by the Airports Council International, which surveys passengers on their views of different airports.
Its Airport Service Quality awards have become an international benchmark for how a good airport should look and should treat its passengers.
Western Cape tourism MEC Alan Winde said about 200 airports participated in the survey. "We are thrilled that Cape Town International has been named the best airport in Africa," he said.
Winde said the award was a result of the provincial government, the Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) and local people working together.
Acsa general manager Deon Cloete said South Africans were competing well in the global arena. "We are proud that we are able to do our bit in making this great city and province a better place for all concerned," he said.

          Cape Town Carnival 2012

The Cape Town Carnival is an annual street parade, which has called Long Street its home for the past two years. This year the carnival spreads its wings and ventures to the Cape Town FanWalk on Saturday 24 March 2012.

The success of the past two years has exceeded the expectations of the performers, sponsors, volunteers and above all the spectators and people of Cape Town. The city proved their love for a good street party when an estimated 60,000 people from diverse communities descended into the Mother city. Because of this overwhelming support, carnival organisers have had no choice but to move this elaborate celebration of cultures to accommodate the people of Cape Town.
The Carnival is the culmination of months of hard work and preparation by costume makers, float builders, the Cape Town Carnival team and of course choreographers and community performers who spent many hours practising and perfecting their dance routines.
The float building and costume departments produce floats and costumes that are widely praised as world class for their creativity and innovation by local and international spectators and visitors. As Jamie MacRae, whose school group from Canada performed with the Bridgetown Community, said: “The spirit of the evening was awesome. You have a winner here”.

The Carnival parade will take place along the Fanwalk and will start at Chiappini street until York Road, a distance of 1,3km.
